Tech Session 3pm - 4pm

Product Show 4pm - 6pm

Join us for ASPE Portland Chapter's Annual Product Show at Level Brewery, a great chance to get up to speed on the latest products you specify, all while enjoying a delicious bite and beverage.

The event is being held in a park-like setting with kid-specific activities, so feel free to make it a family outing.  Back for 2026, we'll also have our friendly Cornhole tournament with prizes - so, plan to join us for the competition.

We'll have a covered area to shield us from the sun (or rain), so plan to join us rain or shine.

New for this year, we'll also be having an ASPE Tech Session from 3pm - 4pm, so you can double dip on your ASPE CEU credits.

Title: Epoxy-Coated Cast Iron Systems: Performance and Design Applications for DWV and Storm Drainage

Epoxy-coated cast iron soil pipe (CISP) has emerged as a significant topic in discussion surrounding drain, waste, and vent (DWV) systems in commercial plumbing.  This presentation will provide historical context and examine the evolving built environment that has driven the need for epoxy protection on CISP is specific "aggressive" applications.  Key areas of focus include the unique challenges addressed by epoxy coatings, various coating processes, applicable standards, testing protocols, and common use cases.  If time permits, additional topics such as coupling methods, flow performance, and plenum considerations will also be explored.

John Marc Shelly is a Technical Services Regional Manager with McWane Plumbing Group (AB&I Foundry, Anaco Husky, and Tyler Pipe), serving the West Coast and educating industry professionals on drain, waste, and ventilation applications.  He has nearly a decade of plumbing industry experience, specializing in cast iron soil pipe and coupling systems, and blend a strong technical background with a relationship-driven approach.  A graduate of Mississippi State and former right-handed pitcher for the university's baseball team, John Marc is a plumber by trade and serves as the Region 4 ASPE Young Professional Liaison.  He lives near Fort Worth Texas and enjoys spending time with his wife and one-year-old son, traveling, good food, and golfing.
